About

A course shaped by
mountain terrain

Nestled in the Sacramento Mountains of southern New Mexico, Ponderosa Pines Golf Course & Lodge sits at 8,700 feet — high enough that the air feels different, and the game demands more of you.

The course threads through ancient ponderosa pine forest, across natural meadows, and along canyon rims that drop away into valley views. Every hole presents a distinct challenge, and every fairway rewards patience and precision.

The lodge above the course offers rooms and suites designed for the kind of slow morning that only comes at altitude — coffee on the porch, mountain light, and the sound of wind moving through the pines.

The Course

Every hole tells
a different story

01

The Front Nine

Opening through the pine tunnel, the front nine tests your driving accuracy and rewards course management. Par-3s guard the green with subtle undulations; par-5s ask for two well-placed shots.

02

The Back Nine

The back nine climbs higher, opening to canyon views and exposed ridgelines. Breezes shift through the afternoon, and every approach shot asks you to read the wind before you address the ball.

03

The Conditions

Bentgrass greens, zoysia fairways, and native rough that flows naturally through the mountain landscape. The course is maintained to championship standards while respecting the high-desert ecosystem.

Dining

Food that tastes
like the mountains

The lodge restaurant serves breakfast and dinner using ingredients from the region — local beef, wild game when available, and produce from high-desert gardens. The menu changes with the seasons.

The 19th hole bar and grill is the place for post-round drinks and simple, honest food — burgers, sandwiches, and cold beers with a view of the green.
